Mission Statement

Kettle Camp Studios is a student-run media organization that functions like a small production company. We bring students with different interests, talents, and majors together to create something that everyone can be proud of. By establishing a culture of professionalism, responsibility, and hard work, we’ve built a team of passionate creators who are dedicated to our cause and dedicated to each other. Our mission is to learn, our goal is to have fun, and our responsibility is to get better every day.

In Fall 2015, I recruited some extremely talented new friends from down the hall in my freshman dorm to help me out with a big idea. With a small collection of writers, a skeleton production crew, and a handful of willing actors we put together the first episode of KPU, a series poking fun at our own college experience in the comedy mockumentary style popularized by shows like The Office or Parks and Rec. I directed, produced, and edited everything (including the theme song) at the beginning, but that wouldn't last for long.

By the end of the school year, we had recruited a team of 15, released our first "season" of content, and received registered student organization status from our school. We were a little production company.

I've since graduated from Loyola, but Kettle Camp Studios remains! The entirely student-run club is home to over 60 active members working in countless roles, from production assistant to marketing coordinator. The club's goal is the same as when it was created: to celebrate and practice the collaborative process, working together to learn how to work together.

KPU (Kickapoo U)

Kettle Camp's first original series, KPU, is a mockumentary about a group of students at the fictional Kickapoo University.

The show ran from Spring 2016 to Fall 2017 in four semester-long "seasons." I served in several roles including director, editor, and producer.
